In 1980, Toshiba Electronics Asia, Limited (TEAL) was established in Hong Kong as a subsidiary of Toshiba Corporation in Japan.

TEAL's function is to direct the sales and marketing of Toshiba electronic components in Hong Kong and China as these markets possess great potential. TEAL's aim is to provide the best services in order to achieve total consumer satisfaction. It also established an international procurement office in 1994 to source materials in Hong Kong and China for various Toshiba factories all over the world.

TEAL distributes a large range of sophisticated and advanced electronic devices includes an array of semiconductors for use in TV, audio equipment, telecommunication, computer, as well as electron tubes and devices. TEAL imports products from Toshiba factories in Japan, Malaysia, Thailand and China which have been awarded the respective ISO 9002 certificate.
