« Back Toshiba Builds the Largest Mosque in Industrial Estate EJIP Cikarang

Toshiba, once again, demonstrated its commitment in improving the welfare and satisfaction of employees by building the largest mosque in Industrial Estate EJIP Cikarang, Indonesia. Mr. Hideaki Yamasaki, President Director of PT. Toshiba Consumer Products Indonesia officially launched the mosque on Friday, March 14, 2014 at the factory’s premises located in East Jakarta Industrial Park (EJIP) Plot 5G, South Cikarang, Bekasi.

In his speech, Mr Yamasaki expressed Toshiba’s commitment to continually improve the welfare of the employees, “With the increasing production, it is supported by a growing number of employees. So as to improve the well-being and satisfaction of employees, we established a new mosque and other facilities.” said Mr. Yamasaki.

PT Toshiba Consumer Products Indonesia was established in February 1996 and produced CRT TV’s. Since then, PT Toshiba Consumer Products Indonesia has grown into a major base for the production of LCD TVs and washing machines in Asia.

The mosque, built on 1740 m2 land, is part of an integrated building comprised of a mosque, an employees’ cafeteria, and male & female employee lockers. This new mosque as a worshipping facility for Toshiba’s employees will build good industrial relations and increase employees’ motivation.

Ahmad Heryawan, West Java Governor who attended the inauguration of the mosque welcomes the steps taken by the PT Toshiba Consumer Products Indonesia, “I give tremendous appreciation for the company that provides the mosque as a place of worship that is comfortable for employees.”
